Baby Beach Aruba: The Complete Guide (2026)

Crystal-clear water, soft white sand, and one of the calmest swimming beaches on the island—it’s easy to see why Baby Beach is one of Aruba’s most popular beaches.

Whether you’re visiting with young children, planning to snorkel, or simply looking for a relaxing beach day, this guide covers everything you need to know before you go.

Why Visit Baby Beach?

Baby Beach is located on Aruba’s southern coast near San Nicolas and is famous for its shallow, protected lagoon.

Unlike some of Aruba’s more open beaches, the calm water makes it an excellent choice for families, beginner snorkelers, and anyone who simply wants to spend a peaceful day floating in crystal-clear Caribbean water.

It’s also one of the few beaches where you can easily combine swimming, snorkeling, great food, and beautiful scenery all in one place.

Where Is Baby Beach?

Baby Beach is located on Aruba’s southeastern coast, just outside San Nicolas.

From Palm Beach or Eagle Beach, the drive takes approximately 35–45 minutes depending on traffic.

The roads are easy to navigate, and having a rental car makes visiting Baby Beach much more convenient—especially if you want to explore other attractions in San Nicolas afterward.

Parking

One of the best things about Baby Beach is that parking is completely free.

There are plenty of parking spaces available, even during busy periods, so finding a spot is rarely a problem.

Facilities

Baby Beach has everything you need for a comfortable beach day.

You’ll find:

Free parking

Restrooms

Outdoor showers

Umbrella rentals

Beach chair rentals

Snorkel gear rentals

Food and drinks nearby

Whether you’re spending two hours or the entire day here, you’ll have everything within walking distance.

Where To Eat

Big Mama Grill

If you’re looking for a casual lunch without leaving the beach, Big Mama Grill is a popular option.

You’ll find burgers, sandwiches, seafood, cold drinks, and local favorites—perfect if you don’t want to pack your own lunch.

Rum Reef

Rum Reef is one of our favorite places near Baby Beach.

Perched just above the water, it offers fantastic views over the bay along with great cocktails, lunch, and dinner.

One of its highlights is the beautiful infinity pool overlooking Baby Beach, making it the perfect place to relax after spending a few hours in the sun.

Even if you’re not hungry, it’s well worth stopping by for a drink and the view alone.

Snorkeling At Baby Beach

Many visitors come to Baby Beach specifically for the snorkeling—and for good reason.

The best snorkeling is found inside the designated snorkeling area, where you’ll find colorful tropical fish and clear, calm water.

You’ll also notice a line of orange buoys marking the safe snorkeling zone.

Always stay inside the buoys.

Beyond this point, currents can become much stronger, making it unsafe even for experienced swimmers.

Water shoes are recommended, especially when entering near the rocky sections.

Our Tip: Choose The Right Side Of The Beach

Here’s a little local tip that many first-time visitors don’t know.

Most visitors automatically set up on the left side of Baby Beach, which is where it tends to get busiest.

If you’ve brought your own beach chairs or umbrella, consider walking to the right side of the beach, closer to Rum Reef.

It’s often noticeably quieter while still being only a short walk from the snorkeling area.

When you’re ready to snorkel, simply walk over to the designated snorkeling section and return afterward to your quieter spot on the beach.

It’s a great way to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Don’t Want To Leave Your Belongings?

If you’re planning to snorkel, a small waterproof waist pouch can be incredibly useful.

It allows you to safely carry your phone, keys, cash, and other valuables while you’re in the water.

If you don’t have one, you can always move your beach chairs and belongings closer to the snorkeling area before heading into the water.

Stay Safe

Baby Beach is generally one of Aruba’s safest beaches for swimming, but it’s still important to take a few precautions.

Stay inside the orange buoys.

Never swim beyond the designated snorkeling area.

Be aware of changing currents.

Keep children within the shallow lagoon.

Snorkel with a buddy whenever possible.

Wear reef-safe sunscreen to help protect Aruba’s marine life.

What To Bring

For the perfect beach day, we recommend bringing:
